SIM ENG KER FCCA, ACIS (CS)(CGP)

A Chartered Accountant by profession, currently devoted all of his time and energy to promote the philosophy and culture of Tai Chi, he had trained many Tai Chi instructors and students.
During his earlier times in year 1973, he learned Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi from disciple of Master Yang Cheng Fu (Chen Man Ching’s linkage Huang Sheng Shyuan). He then continued his journey in learning traditional Yang Family Tai Chi from Grandmaster Yang Zhen Duo, Master Yang Jun and Master Yang Bin.
Actively involved in the Tai Chi training and development by starting giving Tai Chi lessons in year 1975.
In 1994, he successfully introduced Tai Chi into the Ministry of Youth & Sports, Government of Malaysia under the “Rakan Muda” (Youth’s Friend) Program. He was also trained as Judge for Tai Chi competition. Subsequently, he successfully organized an Annual Tai Chi Championship Competition.
He was invited to demonstrate Tai Chi in Channel 1, a Malaysia Morning TV Program under the “Healthy Move” (Gerak Sihat) segment for three years, also appeared in other TV programs for topics related to Tai Chi. He was then invited to teach Tai Chi in Mosques. Tai Chi can be the bridge of friendship, sharing health and happiness for all races in Malaysia.
In 2003, together with President Lim Chiew Ah, they invited the Fourth Generation Grand Master Yang Zhen Duo to visit Malaysia, to conduct talks and visiting Yang Tai Chi Organizations and branches throughout Malaysia.
With the blessings of Grand Master Yang Zhen Duo, the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association of Malaysia was successfully established and registered with the Government of Malaysia on 24th August 2006, Grand Master Yang is the Life Honorary President of the Association. Dato Lim Chiew Ah holds the position of Founder President and Master Sim Eng Ker is the Founder Secretary General until to-date.
In 2007, Dato Lim and he successfully organized the World Tai Chi and Health Convention in Kuala Lumpur with temporary world prominent Tai Chi Grand Master Yang Zhen Duo, Ma Hai Long,Wu Wen Han, Sun Yong Tian, Yang Jun and other Master from Chen(陈), Wu (吴), Wu(武)and Sun(孙) schools, as VIP guests.
In 2009, he represented Malaysia and appointed as judge of Hongkong International Wushu Festival.
2. Founder of Yang Tai Chi Training Center, Malaysia
In response to Grandmaster Yang Zhen Duo’s advice that the expansion and training of Tai Chi must be standardized and formalized, Dato Lim Chiew Ah and Master Sim Eng Ker established Yang Tai Chi Training Center on 11th September 2015.
A systematic and standardized Tai Chi training syllabus was established and implemented. Relevant training courses have been conducted regularly and instructors and judges were trained and accessed accordingly. Ranking System has nine (9) categories, from rank one to nine. Since year 2015 -2019, ranking tests have been conducted regularly and eligible candidates have been awarded accordingly.

3. Award of Prominent Tai Chi Master in 2024
In October 2024, this is the first time, he led a Malaysia Tai Chi Chuan delegation of 36 members tracing the origin source of Tai Chi Chuan in China.
The delegation was warmly welcome by The 15th China -Handan International Tai Chi Chuan Sports Conference Oganising Committee. With the special arrangement of the prominent China Tai Chi Chuan Scholar, Master Yang Zhong Jie, the delegation successfully performed and completed the full ceremony paying respect to the Founder of Yang family Tai Chi Chuan at his residence at Yong Nian , Handan, China-the origin source of Tai Chi Chuan!
In recognition of his contribution in Tai Chi Chuan development, Master Sim was awarded the Prominent Tai Chi Master and Honorary Handan Resident by the Organising Committee.
沈永居老师简历
1.持有英国专业特许会计师/特许公司秘书资格,如今他把所有的时间贡献给弘扬推广传统太极拳的哲学与中华文化,培训了众多太极拳教练及学生。
1973 年,从师启蒙太极老师黃性贤(杨家郑曼青的弟子,郑曼青为杨澄甫弟子) 。后随杨家第四代掌门人杨振铎宗师学习系统化传统杨家太极拳、刀和剑。也先后与第五代掌门人杨军老师及杨斌老师进修传统杨家太极拳、刀和剑,1975 年开始传承太极拳,活跃於太极发展与培训界。
1994 年,他成功把太极拳引进国家体育部的‘青年之友’计划;受训裁判训练后,主办年度太极锦标赛。
他受邀在国家电视台第一台‘健康活动’的节目中,示范推广太极拳长达 3年。 并受邀在回教堂(清真寺)教导穆斯林友族学习太极拳。太极拳是一种可团结大马各民族的活动,增进友谊,达到各民族和谐共处。
2003 年,他与拿督林秋雅邀请并安排杨家第四代掌门人杨振铎宗师亲自来马讲课,巡回全马各太极拳团体。
在杨振铎宗师的号召下,他与宗师的入室弟子拿督林秋雅密切合作之下,马来西亚杨式太极拳总会终于在2006 年 8 月24日正式创立并注册成功。杨振铎宗师受委为永久名誉会长,拿督林秋雅为创会总会长,沈永居为创会秘书长至今。
2007 年,成功筹办 2007 世界太极健康大会,并成功邀请当代世界太极五大流派陈、杨、吴、武、孙的掌门人杨振铎、马海龙、吴文翰及孙永田前来出席盛会。杨军也受邀前来参加名家表演。
2009 年,代表马来西亚,受邀为香港武术节裁判。
2. 马来西亚杨式太极拳培训中心创始人
尊重杨振铎宗师的训示:发展及推广太极拳必须系统化、与规范化的教学制度。沈永居与拿督林秋雅于2015 年9 月 11 日成功创立马来西亚杨式太极拳培训中心。
段位考试制度分 9 个等级;有关的教练,裁判及其他培训课程及段位考试都已定时成功圆满举行。
2015 -2019 年马来西亚杨式太极拳培训中心已成功培训了约500余名考生,他们已受颁发各级证书。

2024 年 10 月,沈永居接到中国邯郸国际太极拳运动大会筹委会的邀请函。他立刻组团带领人数 37 人中国太极寻根团,前往太极故乡邯郸永年溯源寻根。承蒙中国著名太极拳学者杨宗杰老师细心安排一切,使我寻根团非常顺利完成陵园拜祭杨露禅祖师,杨振铎宗师及杨露禅故居一切仪式进行,尊师重道,饮水思源, 圆满成功!
为认定沈永居多年来在太极拳发展的贡献,筹委会颁发”太极拳名师”尊称留念。
